On December 29, 2024, the Nasarawa State Police Command successfully rescued three individuals—Abdulsalam Shuaibu, Sani Shuaibu, and Blessing Okorie—who had been abducted along the Kaduna-Keffi highway. The victims were traveling in a Volkswagen Sharon vehicle when they were intercepted and taken to an undisclosed location.
Upon receiving the report, officers from the Gitata Division, led by Divisional Police Officer SP Zaks Wambai, promptly mobilized to the scene.
They conducted a thorough search of the area, successfully locating and raiding the kidnappers’ hideout. The operation resulted in the safe rescue of all three victims without any injuries.
Commissioner of Police Shetima Jauro Mohammed commended the officers for their swift and effective response, urging them to maintain their efforts against criminal activities in the region.
This incident is part of a broader effort by the Nasarawa State Police to combat kidnapping and related crimes. Earlier reports indicate that within the past year, the command has arrested 107 suspected kidnappers and rescued 27 victims, demonstrating a sustained commitment to enhancing security in the state.
