Caught on Camera: Edo Taskforce Dismisses Official for Steering Altercation
An official from the Edo State Public Works Volunteers (PUWOV) has been dismissed after a video surfaced showing him dangerously struggling with a driver for control of a vehicle’s steering wheel in Benin City.
The incident, which occurred while the bus was in motion with passengers on board, was widely circulated on social media, prompting public outcry over the officer’s reckless behavior.
In response to the incident, Mukhtar Yusuf-Osagie, the State Coordinator of PUWOV, condemned the officer’s actions as unprofessional and a violation of the agency’s protocols.
He emphasized that such behavior endangers public safety and contradicts the organization’s commitment to lawful and ethical conduct. Consequently, the officer involved has been relieved of his duties.
Yusuf-Osagie reiterated PUWOV’s dedication to maintaining public order and safety, urging all officials to perform their duties responsibly and in accordance with established guidelines.
He also appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies to ensure a harmonious and secure environment in Edo State.
