Biden Pledges Full Financial Support for LA Wildfire Relief Efforts
President Joe Biden has announced that the federal government will cover 100% of the costs associated with combating the devastating wildfires in the Los Angeles area for the next six months. This includes expenses such as debris removal, temporary shelters, and first responders’ salaries.
In addition to financial support, the federal government is deploying significant resources to assist in firefighting efforts. This includes the deployment of 400 federal firefighters and 30 firefighting aircraft to bolster local and state response teams.
Governor Gavin Newsom expressed gratitude for the federal assistance, stating, “Thank you, @POTUS, for having California’s back during this unprecedented crisis. Together, we’ll rebuild and recover.”
The Los Angeles wildfires have caused significant destruction, with over 10,000 structures burned and at least 10 fatalities reported. The fires have also forced the evacuation of approximately 180,000 residents.
The federal government’s commitment to covering 100% of the firefighting costs underscores the severity of the situation and the importance of a coordinated response to support affected communities.
