Tragic End for Former Child Actor Rory Sykes: Dies at 32 in LA Wildfires
Former child actor Rory Callum Sykes, known for his role in the 1990s British TV show “Kiddy Kapers,” tragically passed away at the age of 32 during the recent Los Angeles wildfires.
Sykes, who was born with cerebral palsy and later became a motivational speaker, died from carbon monoxide poisoning when his Malibu cottage was engulfed by flames.
His mother, Shelley Sykes, recounted the harrowing events leading to his death.
She attempted to extinguish embers on the cottage roof but was hindered by a lack of water, as municipal supplies had been shut off.
Despite seeking assistance from local firefighters, efforts to save Rory were unsuccessful.
The Los Angeles wildfires have been devastating, with the Palisades Fire alone consuming over 23,000 acres and destroying more than 5,000 structures.
The fires have resulted in at least 16 confirmed deaths and have led to the evacuation of over 150,000 residents.
