Lagos Tragedy: Facebook Connection Leads to Murder and Arrests
Detectives from the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three young men in connection with the death of a woman they met on Facebook. The incident occurred in the Surulere area of Lagos State.
According to Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Ishola, the suspects extorted ₦300,000 from the victim before her death.
The identities of the suspects and the victim have not been disclosed. The police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In a similar case, the murder of Cynthia Osokogu in 2012 involved individuals she met on Facebook. The perpetrators were eventually apprehended and sentenced to death by hanging.
