Jessica Simpson’s Marriage Ends: A Look at Her 10-Year Journey with Ex-NFL Star
Jessica Simpson and her husband, former NFL player Eric Johnson, have announced their separation after more than a decade of marriage. The couple, who began dating in 2010 and married in July 2014, share three children: Maxwell Drew (12), Ace Knute (11), and Birdie Mae (5).
In a statement, Simpson, 44, revealed that she and Johnson, 45, have been living separately, describing it as a “painful situation” and emphasizing their commitment to prioritizing their children’s well-being during this time.
Speculation about their relationship status intensified in late 2024 when Simpson stopped posting photos of Johnson on social media, did not publicly celebrate their anniversary, and was seen without her wedding ring. Johnson was also spotted without his ring during this period.
Adding to the speculation, Simpson listed their Hidden Hills mansion for $17 million just days before announcing the separation. The 13,274-square-foot property, which the couple purchased from Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne in 2013, boasts seven bedrooms and 13 bathrooms.
This marks Simpson’s second marriage; she was previously married to Nick Lachey from 2002 to 2006.
