UNICAL Dean’s Legal Battle: Allegations of Sexual Harassment and Claims of Photo Manipulation
Professor Cyril Ndifon, the suspended Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), is facing allegations of sexual harassment.
During his defense in a Federal High Court in Abuja, he asserted that photographs extracted from his phone, which are central to the case, had been edited. He stated that he did not recognize the images and denied sending or soliciting explicit photographs.
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) had previously charged Ndifon with sexual harassment and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The charges stem from allegations that he requested a female student to send him explicit photographs via WhatsApp.
In his defense, Ndifon highlighted that he had been exonerated by the former Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, and the former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, who both concluded that he had “no case to answer.”
