Can Nigerian Billionaires Band Together to Acquire TikTok? Insights from Kiddwaya
Reality TV star and entrepreneur Kiddwaya recently proposed that Nigerian billionaires collaborate to purchase the social media platform TikTok. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he questioned why such acquisitions seem exclusive to Western billionaires, asking, “What about all the billionaires in Nigeria. Can we come together and buy TikTok or is it only for white people?”
This suggestion has sparked diverse reactions online. Some users questioned Kiddwaya’s self-identification as a billionaire, while others debated the feasibility and practicality of such an acquisition.
Kiddwaya, known for his participation in Big Brother Naija and various business ventures, has previously expressed interest in significant investments.
However, acquiring a global platform like TikTok would require substantial financial resources and strategic planning, considering the platform’s estimated valuation in the tens of billions of dollars.
