Viral TikTok Twerking Video Leads to Flight Attendant’s Dismissal
An Alaska Airlines flight attendant, Nelle Diala, was terminated after posting a TikTok video of herself twerking in the aisle of an empty aircraft. The video, captioned “ghetto bih till i D-I-E, don’t let the uniform fool you,” was recorded during a two-hour wait for the captain’s arrival and went viral on social media platforms.
Diala, who had been with the airline for six months, stated that the video was intended to celebrate the completion of her probationary period. Following her dismissal, she expressed frustration, suggesting that the world has become overly sensitive and that her actions were harmless. She reposted the video with a new caption criticizing the perceived overreaction.
In response to losing her job, Diala launched a GoFundMe campaign to support herself and her side businesses in lingerie and desserts while seeking new employment. As of now, the campaign has raised a fraction of its $12,000 goal.
