Abuja in Turmoil: Father, Mother, and Son Kidnapped by Bandits
In the early hours of Monday, January 27, 2025, armed bandits attacked the Chikakore community in Kubwa, a suburb of Abuja, abducting five residents. The victims include a man identified as Adesiyan Akinropo, his wife, their son, a visitor, and a neighbor.
According to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, the assailants, numbering about seven, disguised themselves as vigilantes and were armed with machetes and sticks. They deceived Akinropo into opening his gate, after which they abducted him and three of his family members.
A neighbor who attempted to intervene sustained injuries during the attack and was promptly rushed to Kubwa General Hospital for medical attention.
This incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in the Federal Capital Territory, where communities have experienced a series of abductions and attacks in recent times. The FCT Police Command has assured residents that efforts are underway to rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
