Cyber-Farting Scandal: Woman’s Aggressive Actions at Ex’s Expense
In a unique legal case in the UK, 25-year-old Rhiannon Evans from Caernarfon, Wales, was prosecuted for harassing her boyfriend’s ex-partner, Deborah Prytherch, by sending her videos of herself passing gas. This act, referred to as “cyber-farting,” is believed to be the first of its kind in Britain.
The harassment occurred over the Christmas period and was linked to a dispute concerning child contact between Evans’ partner and Prytherch. Evans sent multiple videos, which were described in court as “indecent and grossly offensive,” causing significant distress to Prytherch.
In her defense, Evans claimed she was intoxicated at the time and suffering from mental health issues. She expressed that she felt her partner was being treated unfairly by his ex, which motivated her actions. Despite these arguments, Evans pleaded guilty to the charges.
The court sentenced Evans to a 12-month community order, which includes 15 rehabilitation sessions and 60 days of alcohol abstinence monitoring. Additionally, she was fined £50 and ordered to pay £85 in costs, along with a £114 victim surcharge. A two-year restraining order was also imposed, prohibiting her from contacting Prytherch.
