Historic Win: South African Model Becomes First Black Mrs World in 40 Years
South African model Tshego Gaelae has made history by becoming the first Black woman to win the Mrs. World title in the pageant’s 40-year history. The event took place on January 30, 2025, in Las Vegas, USA.
At 33 years old, Gaelae is not only a model but also an admitted attorney, currently serving as a Group B-BBEE & Labour Relations Manager.
The Mrs. World pageant, established in 1984, is the first beauty competition dedicated to married women. Gaelae’s victory marks a significant milestone, reflecting both her personal achievements and a broader movement towards diversity and representation in global pageantry.
