Tiger Woods Faces Heartbreak with Mother’s Passing
Golf legend Tiger Woods has announced the passing of his mother, Kultida “Tida” Woods, who died early Tuesday morning at the age of 81. In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Woods described his mother as a “force of nature” with an undeniable spirit, quick wit, and a great sense of humor. He credited her as his biggest fan and greatest supporter, stating that none of his personal achievements would have been possible without her. Woods also highlighted the special bond she shared with her grandchildren, Sam and Charlie.
Born in Thailand in 1944, Tida met Earl Woods, Tiger’s father, while working as a secretary for the U.S. Army in Bangkok during the Vietnam War. The couple married in 1969 and settled in California, where they raised their only child, Eldrick “Tiger” Woods. Throughout Tiger’s illustrious career, Tida was a constant presence, often seen supporting him at tournaments and significant life events, including his induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2022.
In his tribute, Woods expressed deep gratitude for his mother’s influence, stating, “She was loved by so many, but especially by her two grandchildren, Sam and Charlie. Thank you all for your support, prayers, and privacy at this difficult time for me and my family. Love you Mom.”
The cause of her death has not been disclosed. The golfing community and fans worldwide have extended their condolences to Woods and his family during this time of mourning.
