Legal Action Against Woman for Misleading Marriage Proposal
A 31-year-old woman named Ajayi Esther has been arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly defrauding a man of ₦607,500 under the pretense of marriage. According to the prosecution, Esther falsely presented herself as single and accepted the sum from the complainant with a promise to marry him.
It was later discovered that she was already married, leading to her refusal to fulfill the marriage promise. She has been charged with obtaining money under false pretenses. The court has granted her bail, and the case has been adjourned for further hearing.
