LASTMA Official’s Leg Crushed by Reckless Trailer Driver
A Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) official sustained severe injuries after being struck by a trailer in the Ojodu Berger area of Lagos State. The incident occurred when the trailer, en route from Agidingbi to Omole, lost control and hit the official, resulting in significant fractures to his right leg and hand. He was promptly admitted to the intensive care unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) for treatment.
The driver attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by officers from the Ojodu Police Station, in collaboration with LASTMA personnel. Preliminary reports suggest that the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
LASTMA’s General Manager, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, visited the injured official at LASUTH and condemned the incident. He emphasized the importance of motorists adhering to safety protocols and reminded the public that LASTMA officers are dedicated to ensuring smooth traffic flow in Lagos State.
