Katsina Kidnapping: Former NYSC Director General Taken Hostage
In a recent incident in Katsina State, Nigeria, armed bandits abducted Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga (retired), a former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), along with several other residents. The attack occurred in Tsiga village, Bakori Local Government Area, around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants, armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the community, shooting sporadically to instill fear among residents. During the attack, one person was killed, and at least nine others were abducted. The bandits also ransacked several homes, seizing valuables.
The Katsina State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident. This abduction highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region, where banditry and kidnappings have become increasingly prevalent.
