Relocating Children Abroad to Escape School Bullying

Bovi’s Journey: Moving Kids Overseas Due to Bullying

Nigerian comedian and actor Bovi has revealed that concerns over bullying in Nigerian schools led him to relocate his children to the United Kingdom. In a recent appearance on the “Uncolored” podcast, Bovi shared that his children have been living in the UK for the past two years. He initially sent his first son to a UK boarding school in 2021, and the rest of the family joined later.

Reflecting on his own experiences, Bovi noted that attending a Nigerian boarding school made him “street-smart.” However, he expressed concerns about the normalization of bullying within the Nigerian educational system, which influenced his decision to seek education abroad for his children.

Bovi also commented on the broader issue of mass migration from Nigeria, attributing it to the lack of an enabling environment and adequate infrastructure within the country. He emphasized that migration is not solely about financial gain but also about seeking dignity and better living conditions.
