Armed Teenager Disrupts Arkansas Airport Operations
On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, a 15-year-old boy armed with an AR-style rifle and a handgun entered Signature Aviation at Texarkana Regional Airport in Arkansas. He demanded access to an aircraft and the airfield.
Staff members retreated to a secure area and contacted authorities. The teenager then moved toward the airfield, where he was confronted by a local private pilot who had retrieved his own firearm. The pilot ordered the teen to the ground, leading to his peaceful apprehension by Texarkana police.
A shotgun was also discovered in a vehicle associated with the suspect. No injuries were reported. The boy, who is not from the area, was arrested on charges including aggravated assault, attempted aggravated robbery, and making terroristic threats.
His motives remain unknown, and he has been placed in a juvenile detention center. Authorities commended the actions of the pilot and staff for preventing potential harm.
