N1m Bail Approved for Kabiru Turaki Amid Adultery Claims

Former Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN), has been granted bail in the sum of N1 million by a Federal Capital Territory Magistrate’s Court. Turaki was arraigned on charges including false marriage, adultery, and criminal intimidation. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The allegations involve claims that between December 2014 and August 2016, Turaki deceitfully cohabited with Ms. Hadiza Musa Baffa, leading her to believe they were lawfully married, and that their relationship resulted in the birth of a child. He is also accused of abandoning Ms. Baffa and the child, denying paternity, and threatening harm.

The court granted bail with conditions, including the provision of two sureties residing within its jurisdiction and proof of residence. The case has been adjourned for further proceedings.
