Kanye West's Album "Bully": A Father's Reflection

Saint West’s Influence on Kanye’s New Album

Kanye West has announced that his upcoming album, titled “Bully,” was inspired by an incident involving his 9-year-old son, Saint. In a conversation with rapper Justin Laboy, West recounted that Saint kicked another child and justified his action by saying the other child was “weak.” This event led West to reflect on the concept of bullying, ultimately influencing the album’s theme and title.

The album cover, photographed by Japanese photographer Daidō Moriyama, features a black-and-white image of a young boy with silver grills and an intense expression, speculated to be Saint himself. “Bully” is scheduled for release on June 15, 2025, coinciding with his daughter North’s 12th birthday. This will be West’s first solo album since “Donda” in 2021.

West has been working on the project in Tokyo, aiming to infuse it with a personal creative touch. He has described “Bully” as a concept album that he is solely producing, marking a departure from his traditional collaborative approach.
