
Edo Police Conducts Successful Kidnapping Rescue Operation
On February 8, 2025, the Edo State Police Command successfully rescued Osazee Okungbowa, who had been abducted the previous evening from his residence in the Power Line area of Owanoba Community.
The rescue operation was conducted by officers from the Ologbo Division around 5:00 p.m. Following his release, Okungbowa received medical attention and has since been reunited with his family. The police are actively pursuing the suspects involved in the kidnapping.
In a related development, the Edo State Police Command also rescued the Onogie of Udo-Eguare, a traditional ruler in Edo Central, who was kidnapped on February 3, 2025. The monarch was freed after four days in captivity, thanks to sustained police efforts supported by the Edo State Government, vigilantes, hunters, and other well-meaning residents.
