
N15m Ransom Sought After Abduction of Ondo Students
On Saturday evening, February 8, 2025, three students from the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure (FECA), in Ondo State, were abducted by gunmen while returning from a farm near Akure Airport. The victims, who were undertaking their Industrial Training (IT) at the farm, were ambushed alongside a farmer and a laborer in the Oke Oge area of Akure North Local Government.
The kidnappers have contacted the families of the victims, demanding a ransom of ₦15 million for their release. Efforts are underway to negotiate with the abductors, but they have remained adamant about the specified amount.
In response to the incident, the Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun, has deployed personnel to rescue the victims. The agency’s commander, Adetunji Adeleye, confirmed the deployment and assured the public that they are actively working to secure the safe return of the abducted individuals.
