Lagos Workers to Return to Office from April 1
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced the cancellation of the remote work policy for public servants, effective from March 31, 2025. Starting April 1, 2025, all state employees are required to resume full on-site duties across their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
This decision marks the end of the work-from-home initiative that was implemented in February 2024 to mitigate the economic challenges following the Federal Government’s removal of fuel subsidies. The policy allowed certain categories of staff, particularly those in junior cadres, to work remotely for part of the week.
In a statement issued on February 11, 2025, the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, highlighted that the cancellation aligns with the recent implementation of the new minimum wage and other welfare measures aimed at enhancing the well-being of public servants in Lagos State. Agoro urged all public servants to rededicate themselves to their duties and ensure improved service delivery within their MDAs.
