Fed Poly Bauchi Community Mourns Student’s Untimely Death
A tragic incident occurred on February 12, 2025, involving Faith Aluku Adeshola, a diploma journalism student in the Department of Mass Communication at the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi. Faith was fatally struck by a hit-and-run truck driver while en route to school on a motorcycle. Eyewitnesses reported that the collision resulted in her immediate death at the scene.
Following the incident, both the truck driver and the motorcycle rider were apprehended and are currently in police custody. Faith’s body has been transported to the morgue at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital. It was noted that she was still in the process of completing her registration at the institution at the time of her untimely death.
In response to this tragic event, the President of the institution’s Students’ Union Government, Comrade Haruna Umar, has called for calm among the student body. He assured students that both the polytechnic’s management and security agencies are actively working to ensure justice for the deceased. Additionally, Umar has urged the Polytechnic’s management and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to install speed bumps around the institution’s perimeter to prevent similar incidents in the future.
