Singer Tems Joins Ownership of San Diego FC
Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems has expanded her influence beyond music by joining the ownership group of Major League Soccer’s San Diego FC through her company, The Leading Vibe. This partnership was facilitated by Pave Investments, an African private investment firm.
Tems expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “I am thrilled to join [the team’s] ownership group and be part of a club that celebrates creativity, culture, and the power of community. Football has a unique way of bringing people together, and I am excited to help build something special in San Diego, a city that thrives on diversity and innovation.”
San Diego FC’s ownership group includes notable figures such as actress Issa Rae, former World Cup-winning footballer Juan Mata, retired U.S. Navy SEAL Jocko Willink, and MLB All-Star Manny Machado.
The club is set to make its MLS debut in 2025, with its inaugural match scheduled against the LA Galaxy on February 23.
