Akeredolu’s Insight: The Power of Listening
Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the widow of former Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, has expressed that her husband might still be alive had he heeded her advice to seek medical treatment instead of relying on spiritual interventions.
In a recent interview, she emphasized the importance of consulting medical professionals for serious health issues like cancer, stating, “A pastor is not a doctor; he understands nothing about cancer. He can only pray, and prayers don’t cure cancer.”
Mrs. Akeredolu, a breast cancer survivor herself, highlighted the critical role of medical care in managing such diseases. She urged individuals facing health challenges to prioritize medical attention over spiritual practices, noting that her husband’s reliance on spiritualists and pastors, against her counsel, contributed to his demise.
