Mooresville High School Shooting Plan Averted by FBI

An 18-year-old student from Mooresville High School in Indiana, identified as Trinity J. Shockley, has been arrested for allegedly planning a mass shooting at her school on Valentine’s Day. The FBI received an anonymous tip through the Sandy Hook tip line, leading to a swift investigation by local authorities.

Shockley reportedly expressed admiration for notorious mass shooters, including Nikolas Cruz, the perpetrator of the 2018 Parkland, Florida, school shooting. In online communications, she referred to her planned attack as “Parkland part two” and indicated she had been planning it for a year. She also mentioned intentions to target a friend during the attack.

During a search of Shockley’s residence, investigators discovered disturbing materials, including collages featuring images of mass shooters and notebooks containing writings expressing a desire to harm others. Authorities also found AR-15 magazines, ammunition, and a soft armor vest in her father’s room.

Shockley has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and two counts of intimidation. She is currently held in the Morgan County Jail without bond. This incident underscores the critical importance of vigilant monitoring and prompt reporting of potential threats to ensure the safety of educational institutions.
