Senior Citizen Pursues Education by Registering for UTME

In an inspiring testament to lifelong learning, 94-year-old Pa Adedapo Idowu has registered for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) with the ambition of studying Political Science at the University of Ibadan. Idowu completed his registration at the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Professional Test Center in Ibadan, Oyo State.

He expressed gratitude for the seamless registration process, noting that his initial apprehensions about pursuing higher education at his age were alleviated by the efficient system in place. Idowu commended JAMB’s integration of the National Identity Number (NIN) for simplifying data collection and eliminating discrimination against the elderly, underprivileged, and individuals with disabilities. He also praised the professionalism and warm reception from the registration staff, which instilled in him the confidence to embark on this academic journey.

Idowu encouraged the board to maintain its current trajectory to ensure continuous success in delivering its mandate. He advised fellow candidates to uphold professionalism and integrity in their academic pursuits, emphasizing that age and adversity should not deter one from achieving their dreams.
