Delta Flight Engulfed in Flames at Toronto Airport
On February 17, 2025, Delta Air Lines Flight 4819, operating from Minneapolis to Toronto Pearson International Airport, experienced a catastrophic landing incident. The Bombardier CRJ-900LR aircraft, carrying 76 passengers and four crew members, skidded off the snow-covered runway amid strong winds, burst into flames, and ultimately flipped upside down.
Remarkably, all 80 individuals on board survived; however, 18 passengers sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals, with some reported in critical condition. The incident led to the temporary closure of runways at Toronto Pearson, causing flight cancellations and diversions. Investigations are underway, with assistance from both U.S. and Canadian transportation safety authorities, to determine the exact cause of the crash.
