Oluyede Predicts: Turji’s Time in Power is Ending
Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, has issued a stern warning to notorious bandit leader Bello Turji, stating that Turji should “keep running” as his capture or elimination is imminent. This declaration underscores the Nigerian Army’s intensified efforts to combat banditry in the northwestern regions of the country.
In recent military operations, significant progress has been made against Turji’s network. Notably, troops have neutralized several of his key commanders and fighters, including his second-in-command, Aminu Kanawa, and over 24 other militants. These actions have dealt substantial blows to the operational capabilities of Turji’s faction.
Despite these setbacks, reports indicate that Turji has expressed a willingness to surrender and embrace peace. This development has sparked discussions among security agencies and the public regarding the potential for a peaceful resolution to his activities.
