Delta Police Uncover Stockpile of Arms and Military Gear in Raid

The Delta State Police Command has successfully raided a kidnappers’ hideout, leading to the arrest of a key suspect and the recovery of various weapons and military attire. Acting on intelligence, the CP Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT), led by ASP Julius Robinson, conducted the operation on February 2, 2025, at Evwokenren Layout off Ughelli Road in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area.

The team apprehended the gang leader, identified as Emeka (surname unknown), who had been evading capture. Recovered items include a fabricated semi-automatic Beretta pistol with four rounds of live ammunition, four locally made cut-to-size guns, thirteen live cartridges, and a pair of military uniforms concealed in a black polythene bag. The suspect is currently in custody, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang.

In a related development, on February 19, 2025, operatives from the Safer Highway Patrol arrested three individuals during a stop-and-search operation along the Benin-Agbor Road. The suspects, identified as Buhari Bala (28), Habibu Sale (25), and Abdulwahab Musa (20), were found in possession of three locally made long guns and charms. They claimed to be traveling from Zaria, Kaduna State, to a bush near Benin for a hunting expedition.
