Man Drowns in Ogun While Attempting to Recover Phone
A tragic incident occurred on February 22, 2025, in Oja-Odan, Ogun State, where 31-year-old Sunday Jimoh drowned while attempting to retrieve his mobile phone from a well. Despite warnings about the danger, Jimoh insisted on entering the well beside his shop to recover the phone. Unfortunately, he drowned during the attempt.
The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the incident, noting that a preliminary investigation found no signs of violence, indicating it was an unfortunate accident. The family has been notified and has chosen to conduct the burial according to Muslim rites. The police have extended their condolences and urged the public to exercise caution in hazardous situations.
