Delta University Student Arrested for Nursing Student's Death

Final-Year Nursing Student Killed During Driving Lesson

The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a 100-level student from the University of Delta (UNIDEL) in Agbor, following a tragic incident that resulted in the death of a final-year nursing student.

The incident occurred on February 19, 2025, when the suspect, under the supervision of her boyfriend, lost control of the vehicle she was learning to drive, veering off the road and striking pedestrians. One of the victims, 23-year-old Awele Agatha Eluemunor, a final-year student at the College of Nursing in Agbor, died instantly.

Two other individuals sustained critical injuries and were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. Eyewitnesses reported that the boyfriend fled the scene immediately after the accident, abandoning the young driver. The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, confirmed the incident, noting that one person died and another was injured.
