Akwa Ibom Police Foil Kidnapping Attempt Amid Gunfire
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has successfully rescued a kidnapped victim in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area following a confrontation with the abductors. The incident occurred on February 13, 2025, when a man was kidnapped along Okop Eto Road and taken to an unknown location.
Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives engaged the kidnappers in a gun duel, during which the assailants fled with severe gunshot injuries, leaving the victim unharmed. The rescued individual has since been reunited with his family, and his stolen Lexus RX 350 SUV was recovered during the operation. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects and recover the weapons used in the crime.
