Trump Backs Vivek Ramaswamy for Governor

Vivek Ramaswamy: Trump’s Choice for Governor

President Donald Trump has publicly endorsed 39-year-old billionaire entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy for the Ohio gubernatorial race in 2026. Ramaswamy, a Cincinnati native, officially announced his candidacy on February 24, 2025, outlining a platform focused on education reform, economic investment, and tax reduction.

His policy proposals include universal school choice, performance-based pay for teachers, and attracting industries such as semiconductor manufacturing and biotech to Ohio. Trump expressed his support on Truth Social, describing Ramaswamy as “something special” and offering his “complete and total endorsement.”

In addition to Trump’s endorsement, tech entrepreneur Elon Musk has also backed Ramaswamy’s gubernatorial bid. Musk reshared Ramaswamy’s campaign announcement on social media, stating, “Good luck, you have my full endorsement!” Ramaswamy responded, “Thank you Elon. Let’s roll!”

Ramaswamy’s political involvement includes a 2024 presidential bid, during which he suspended his campaign to endorse Trump. He also co-chaired the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) alongside Elon Musk before resigning to focus on his gubernatorial campaign.

The Ohio gubernatorial race has attracted several candidates, including Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, entrepreneur Heather Hill, and Democrat Dr. Amy Acton. With Ohio’s recent trend toward Republican leadership, Ramaswamy aims to position the state as a hub of innovation and excellence.
