Investigation Underway Following Death of 84-Year-Old
Gardaí in Cork, Ireland, are investigating the death of 84-year-old Stella Nnadi, originally from Nigeria, who passed away following an alleged assault at her home in Carrigaline.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening when Ms. Nnadi’s daughter was reportedly attacked in the kitchen, prompting her to seek help from neighbors. Upon returning, she found her mother disoriented, and Ms. Nnadi indicated that she had been pushed or dragged down the stairs, sustaining head injuries.
Initially, she did not seek medical attention, but her condition worsened the following day, leading to her hospitalization at Cork University Hospital, where she later died from a suspected brain bleed.
A 37-year-old man known to the family has been arrested in connection with the incident. The Office of the State Pathologist has been notified, and a post-mortem examination will determine the course of the investigation. The local community in Carrigaline has expressed shock over the event.
