Plateau Incident: Officers Fall in Battle Against Kidnappers
On the evening of February 25, 2025, two police officers were fatally shot during a confrontation with suspected kidnappers in the Little Rayfield area of Jos South Local Government Area, Plateau State.
The officers, identified as Fatoyo Femi and Inspector Dafur Dashit, were part of the Force Investigation Department’s Intelligence Response Team (IRT) on special assignment from Abuja. They engaged in a gunfight with the suspects while attempting to thwart a kidnapping operation.
During the encounter, four suspects were apprehended. The Plateau State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the incident and has urged the public to remain calm, assuring that the situation is under control.
