Ganduje Reveals N8.9 Billion Debt Inheritance

The Impact of N8.9 Billion Debt on Ganduje’s Leadership

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), disclosed during the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja that he inherited a debt of approximately N8.9 billion upon assuming office.

This financial burden stems from legal expenses related to pre-election disputes, election cases, and appeals across legislative, governorship, and presidential elections. Ganduje noted that the party’s National Legal Adviser, Prof. Abdul Kareem Kana (SAN), is actively working to mitigate these liabilities through dialogue and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

He also appealed to the NEC for intervention, highlighting that some of the party’s accounts remain under garnishee orders.
