Arrest of Prophet Madzibaba Heavynisher in Witchcraft Hoax
A 19-year-old self-proclaimed prophet from Kwekwe, Zimbabwe, known as Madzibaba Heavynisher (real name Brighton Muroyi), has been arrested alongside 45-year-old Revai Kweza for allegedly staging a fake witchcraft incident to boost his popularity.
On February 17, Kweza was found inside a locked house near Muroyi’s shrine in Mbizo 3, Kwekwe, dressed in black attire. A crowd gathered, believing a witch had been caught, prompting police intervention. Upon investigation, it was discovered that Muroyi had hired Kweza to pose as a trapped witch to attract attention. WhatsApp messages between the two detailed their arrangement and the payment Kweza was to receive.
Both individuals have been charged with causing a public nuisance and remain in police custody as investigations continue.
