Pope Francis on Ventilator: Vatican’s Latest Announcement
Pope Francis, aged 88, has been hospitalized since February 14, 2025, due to double pneumonia. After experiencing a respiratory crisis on Friday, he was placed on non-invasive mechanical ventilation.
As of Sunday, his condition has stabilized, and he no longer requires mechanical ventilation, though he continues to receive high-flow supplemental oxygen.
The Vatican reports that he is without fever, has stable blood circulation, and shows no signs of new infections.
Despite his hospitalization, Pope Francis has remained engaged in his spiritual duties, participating in Mass and expressing gratitude to well-wishers, while continuing to pray for global peace. The prognosis remains guarded, and the Vatican continues to monitor his health closely.
