INEOS Cuts Costs: Sir Alex Ferguson’s Role Termination Explained
Manchester United has ended Sir Alex Ferguson’s multi-million-pound ambassadorial contract as part of cost-cutting measures initiated by INEOS, one of the club’s part-owners.
The decision was conveyed to Ferguson during a meeting with Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who explained the financial reasons behind it.
Ferguson, who has been serving as a global ambassador since his retirement as manager in 2013, reportedly accepted the decision without hard feelings.
He remains a non-executive director at the club, despite the termination of his ambassador role.
