Turmoil in Serbian Parliament: Lawmaker Suffers Stroke
On March 4, 2025, Serbia’s National Assembly descended into chaos as opposition lawmakers threw smoke grenades and tear gas canisters during a parliamentary session. This protest was in response to government policies and in support of student demonstrations following a tragic train station roof collapse that resulted in 15 fatalities.
The altercation led to injuries among parliamentarians, including Jasmina Obradovic of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), who suffered a stroke and was hospitalized in critical condition.
