Ukraine Accepts Ceasefire Proposal Amid US Military Support

US Restores Military Aid as Ukraine and Russia Ceasefire

Ukraine has agreed to a 30-day ceasefire proposal with Russia, following high-level negotiations in Saudi Arabia involving U.S. officials. The ceasefire, which can be extended by mutual agreement, aims to halt the ongoing conflict that has persisted for over three years.

In exchange for Ukraine’s commitment, the United States has lifted restrictions on military aid and intelligence sharing with Kyiv. However, despite the agreement, Russia launched an air attack on Kyiv shortly after the announcement, casting doubt on Moscow’s commitment to the ceasefire.

President Donald Trump emphasized that Russia’s acceptance of the ceasefire is crucial for its success, stating that the “ball is in Russia’s court.” U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio echoed this sentiment, highlighting that Ukraine is ready to cease hostilities and engage in negotiations. Diplomatic efforts are ongoing, with plans for further discussions if the ceasefire holds.

European allies, including leaders from the UK, France, and Poland, have expressed support for the ceasefire agreement. The situation remains fluid, and the international community continues to monitor developments closely, hoping for a sustainable peace solution in the region.
