Borno IED Explosion Injures Three Law Enforcement Officers

On March 12, 2025, three police officers were injured in Borno State when an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists detonated.

The officers were conducting routine patrols in the area when the explosion occurred.

The injured officers were promptly evacuated to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Security forces have initiated an investigation into the incident and are conducting operations to apprehend those responsible.

This attack underscores the ongoing security challenges in northeastern Nigeria, where ISWAP and other insurgent groups continue to pose significant threats to both civilians and security personnel.
