Ex-Footballer Ronaldo Steps Back from Federation Election
Brazilian football legend Ronaldo Nazário has withdrawn his candidacy for the presidency of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) due to insufficient support from regional federations.
Despite his intentions to restore the prestige of Brazilian football, Ronaldo encountered resistance, with 23 of the 27 federations declining to meet with him and expressing satisfaction with the current administration.
Acknowledging the federations’ significant voting power and their backing of incumbent president Ednaldo Rodrigues, Ronaldo concluded that pursuing his candidacy was unfeasible.
