Violence Erupts in Ogun: Four Feared Killed in Cult War

Ogun Cult Conflicts: Four Reported Dead Amidst Violence

Recent clashes between rival cult groups in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, have resulted in the deaths of at least four individuals and left several others injured. The violence erupted when members of the Eiye and Buccaneer confraternities engaged in confrontations across various parts of the city.

The conflict began on Thursday evening when a suspected leader of the Eiye confraternity, known as Dare or “Oloba,” was fatally shot in front of his residence in the Ijeja area by alleged members of the Buccaneer group. Subsequently, on Sunday morning, another individual, identified as Tayo Alora, was killed in the Isabo area, with reports suggesting he was targeted by rival cult members.

In response to these incidents, the Ogun State Police Command has intensified efforts to curb the violence. The command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest of eleven suspects linked to the clashes. The police are actively patrolling affected areas to prevent further escalation and have urged residents to remain vigilant, reporting any suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.
