Woman Sentenced to Life for Killing Three Daughters

Mother Receives Three Life Sentences for Daughters’ Deaths

In recent months, two separate cases have emerged involving mothers convicted of killing their children, each resulting in life sentences.

Greece: Roula Pispirigou

On March 18, 2025, a court in Athens sentenced Roula Pispirigou, 36, to three life terms for the murders of her three daughters. Previously, in March 2024, she was convicted for the death of her nine-year-old daughter, Georgina, whom she killed by administering a lethal dose of ketamine. The recent trial addressed the deaths of her other two children: three-year-old Malena and six-month-old Irida, both of whom were found to have been suffocated in 2019 and 2021, respectively. Prosecutors argued that Pispirigou’s actions were driven by attempts to prevent her husband from leaving her. She maintains her innocence and is expected to appeal the verdict.

United States: Rachel Henry

In Phoenix, Arizona, Rachel Henry, 27, was sentenced on February 14, 2025, to three consecutive life sentences for the murders of her three young children in 2020. Henry pleaded guilty to premeditated first-degree murder for smothering her children: three-year-old Zane Henry, one-year-old Miraya Henry, and seven-month-old Catalaya Rios. After committing the murders, she staged their bodies on the couch to appear as if they were sleeping. Henry later expressed confusion and attributed her actions to being under the influence of drugs at the time.

Both cases have drawn significant media attention due to the tragic nature of the crimes and the severe sentences imposed.
