Hamas Government Leader in Gaza Killed in Israeli Strike

Israeli Strike Claims Life of Hamas Leader in Gaza

Issam al-Da’alis, head of Hamas’s government in Gaza, was killed in Israeli airstrikes on March 18, 2025.

The strikes also resulted in the deaths of other senior Hamas officials, including Mahmoud Abu Watfa, head of the interior ministry, and Bahjat Abu Sultan, director-general of internal security.

These attacks were part of a broader Israeli military operation targeting Hamas leadership and infrastructure in Gaza, following the breakdown of hostage negotiations.

The escalation has led to significant casualties, with reports indicating over 400 people killed and hundreds injured.

The renewed violence has drawn international condemnation and raised concerns about a deepening humanitarian crisis in the region.
