AirFrance Flight Returns After Passenger Loses Phone

AirFrance Plane Turns Back Due to Lost Phone Incident

On March 21, 2025, Air France flight AF750, en route from Paris to Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, returned to Paris approximately two hours into its journey after a passenger reported losing their mobile phone on board.

The Boeing 777-300ER, carrying 375 passengers and 12 crew members, departed Paris Orly Airport at 12:01 PM local time and, after reaching 32,000 feet, reversed course over the English Channel, landing back at Paris Orly at 2:08 PM.

The decision to return was made as a precaution due to concerns about potential fire risks associated with misplaced electronic devices containing lithium-ion batteries. Such batteries, if damaged or overheated, can pose significant safety hazards.

After landing, ground personnel located the missing phone, and the aircraft departed again at 4:13 PM, arriving in Pointe-à-Pitre approximately four hours later than scheduled.
