Edo Fight Turns Deadly: Apprentice Stabs Man Over Girl
In Ogiriga community, Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State, a tragic incident occurred on the night of Friday, March 21, 2025. A trailer driver named Johnson Sunday was allegedly stabbed to death by his apprentice, Udeji Bright, during a dispute reportedly over a teenage girl aged between 16 and 17.
According to eyewitness accounts, the altercation escalated, leading to Bright allegedly stabbing Sunday from behind around 11 p.m. Following the incident, Bright was taken into police custody.
The event has heightened tensions within the community. In response, agitated youths reportedly set fire to a house belonging to the suspect’s father.
Local authorities are conducting an ongoing investigation into the matter. Community leaders are urging residents to remain calm and allow law enforcement to handle the situation appropriately.
